WHY ‘PHYSICAL STORIES’ KIDS CLASSES?
Kids love stories and they are one of the best ways of teaching and conveying positive messages. In this yoga, mindfulness, song and drama class for kids, we take stories that kids love and focus on the messages behind them.
This children's class is held on Mondays in Island Bay and Wednesdays in Brooklyn, Wellington.

ABOUT JOANNE LISIK AND HOW SHE CREATED THIS CLASS
Joanne Lisik is a teacher, director, actor, dancer and singer. She has a BA Hons Degree in Contemporary Dance and Visual Art from Bath-Spa University, England. Postgraduate Diploma in Musical Theatre and Secondary Teaching Diploma in Visual and Performing Arts from Victoria University. Joanne has many years or both teaching experience in Primary and Secondary Education and currently teaches Drama at Queen Margaret College.
’As a teacher, I have seen the benefits that children gain from partaking in the arts and the joy and confidence this gives them. I have also seen an increase in the number of children dealing with mental health issues and believe it to be really important for kids to be taught strategies to deal with life's stresses when they are young, so that they have tools to access throughout their lives. I began to do movement and mindfulness time with my own daughter, then invited friends’ children to try it… and Physical Stories with Jo was born! I really believe in these classes for children and encourage you to come along and try one out.’

Parent Reviews
My kids are thoroughly enjoying Physical Stories - their confidence, mindfulness and awareness have improved so much in just a few weeks - and most importantly they are having so much fun and are very excited to go along! Jo is a very talented and passionate storyteller and teacher and we feel really lucky to have the opportunity to be a part of these classes!
I love these stories with Jo, and I'm not even the target audience! There has obviously been a lot of planning and thought behind the scenes in making these classes as successful as they are, but as if that weren't enough, they are delivered with such an energy that can only come from one who is truly passionate about her role and endgame. Very inclusive. Would recommend.
